Let's Talk About Your Event

Hi! I'm Desirae, the owner and main bartender for Anvil Mixology MKE. I'm originally from San Diego, California, but Wisconsin has been home since I moved to Waukesha County in 2003. My bartending story started in 2017 when I became a Bar Wench at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. I loved it — the energy, the people, the controlled chaos of a busy bar, and being a small part of someone having a really great day.

Before long, I was the person friends and family called when they were planning a celebration, and somewhere along the way I realized this was something I wanted to take beyond a hobby. In 2024, my daughter and I packed our bags and headed to Amsterdam, where we spent four weeks training at European Bartender School. It combined two things I absolutely love — travel and bartending — and gave me the opportunity to really dive into cocktails, mixology, and the craft behind the bar.

I'm a details person. I notice the little things, and I think those are often what people remember most. I don't want to show up, set out some bottles, pour drinks, and call it a day. I want to know what you're celebrating, what you like, and what will make your bar feel like it was created specifically for your event. Maybe that's a signature cocktail with a story behind it, a beautiful garnish, colors or images that will set the mood — or simply making sure your guests feel welcomed and taken care of. Every event is different, and I think the bar should be too.

When I'm not behind the bar, there's a good chance I'm planning my next trip or cruise, singing karaoke somewhere, or listening to '80s alternative music. Anvil Mixology is a reflection of a lot of the things I love — good drinks, good people, new experiences, and celebrations that are anything but ordinary.
